overcame the odds and held Mexico to a 1-1 draw in the opening match with this fabulous strike.

UNITED STATES
amazingly held powerhouse England to a 1-1 draw, thanks to this mistake by goalkeeper Robert Green.

NORTH KOREA
has won the hearts of many through this Ji Yu-Nam goal despite losing to world no. 1 Brazil 2-1.

SWITZERLAND
stunned European champions Spain 1-0 to continue their 4-year-long World Cup run without conceding.


And as a sidenote...
My favourite player, Miroslav Klose of Germany, continued his World Cup phenomenal scoring by heading his 11th against Australia. But it was not meant to be; he was sent off in the next match against Serbia as Germany slumped to a 1-0 defeat.
